BackupServer™ Configuration

How would I use GOSH with my BackupServer?

The arrows show the dataflow between servers. With BackupServer™, you not only can backup, restore & crash recover data locally, but with the extra protection of GOSH you can backup, restore and crash recover remotely anytime anywhere.

Benefits:

Access files locally or remotely.
Keep encrypted archives of your data off-site for Linux/UNIX, Windows & Mac

Access your data from multiple servers simultaneously.

We have worked hard to make the setup of our Backup Servers easy and simple for even the most computer illiterate users. Once a Backup Server is purchased, the steps of setting up this server for your everyday business environment are as follows:

  1. Connect the BackupServer™ to your local network where your production server is located.
  2. Configure your production server to backup to the BackupServer™ using LONE-TAR
  3. Configure the BackupServer™ to backup to GOSH using LONE-TAR
  4. Setup backups for any windows clients to our BackupServer™ using our Windows Backup Agent
  5. Enable our 'rsync' scripts to backup white list files such as huge database files changing every minute

ALL our Backup Servers come with:

- Linux OS CentOS 5 (32bit or 64bit)
- LONE-TAR & RESCUE RANGER installed
- LONE-TAR Encryption module
- Tested Disaster Recovery media
